Privacy policy
Last updated October 14, 2026. This policy covers GradeOrFlip at https://gradeorflip.com/, a free site run by an individual (see About).
What stays on your device
Everything you type into the calculators stays in your browser. We have no accounts and no database. Your inputs appear in the page address (URL) only so you can share a result; that link is not sent to us.
If you choose dark or light mode, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage. Some tools also save saved cards, your turnaround tracker list and checklist ticks there, on your device only, so they survive a reload. Clearing your browser data removes them. Local storage is not a cookie and is never sent to a server by us.
Cookies
This site currently sets no cookies of its own. If that changes, for example when advertising is added, this page will be updated first.
Visitor statistics
We count page views with GoatCounter, an open-source, privacy-friendly analytics service. It sets no cookies and stores no personal data: it records the page address, the referring site, browser and screen size, and a country derived from your IP address, which is not stored. Unique visitors are estimated with a hash that changes every day, so you cannot be tracked across days or sites. The numbers you type into the calculators are never sent. Blocking gc.zgo.at in your browser opts you out. If ads are ever added, this page will be updated first.
Advertising and affiliate links (possible in future)
The site is free and may in future show third-party advertising, such as Google AdSense, and may include affiliate links. There are no ads and no affiliate links today. If ads are shown, Google and other third-party vendors may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You can learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, read Google's advertising policies and cookie information, and opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. Where required (for example in the EEA and UK) we will ask for consent before showing personalized ads. If we use affiliate links, we may earn a commission when you buy through them, at no extra cost to you, and the link will be labelled.
Feedback button
Every page has a Feedback button. Nothing is sent when you open it or type in it. If you choose Send via GitHub, a new tab opens a prefilled issue on this site's public GitHub repository (github.com/Matt5516/card-flip-calc); it is only posted if you submit it there, under your own GitHub account, and it is public. The page address, your thumbs up/down and your comment go in the issue; your email is never added to it. If you choose Send by email, your own mail app opens a message to matt63sorensen@yahoo.com with the same details plus your email if you typed one. We use feedback only to improve the site.
Hosting
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security. See GitHub's privacy statement.
The email signup is not connected yet and stores nothing. When it opens, your address will be used only to send updates, will not be sold, and you can unsubscribe at any time. If you email us, we use your address only to reply.
Children
This site is a general-audience tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Because we do not collect personal data ourselves, there is generally nothing for us to access or delete. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of personal data, and not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any right or ask a question, contact us below, and also contact the relevant third party (GoatCounter, GitHub or an ad partner) for data they hold.
Changes
We will post changes on this page and update the date above.
