PSA 9 vs raw: what multiple covers grading?

For a $50 raw card at PSA Standard ($59.99), a graded card must sell for $144.54 (2.9× raw) to break even. If a 9 typically sells for only 1.3× raw, a 9 loses money.

Assumptions: $5 shipping to the grader and $5 back per card, $5 shipping to the buyer, standard eBay trading-card fees (13.25% + $0.40 per order, $0.30 at $10 or less), no sales tax. Fees checked October 14, 2026. Change any of these in the calculator.

Break-even counts the raw value you give up as a cost, so a mid grade that sells below the break-even is worse than selling raw. Fee used: Standard, or Priority if 4× raw would exceed the Standard cap.
