BGS vs SGC: which grading company should you use?

BGS starts at $79.95 and SGC at $50.00 per card (Oct 14, 2026). Pick the one with the higher expected profit for your card: the slab that sells for more often wins even with a higher fee, so compare sold prices for both.

How to decide

Grading fee is only part of it. What matters is sale price minus all costs. If a BGS 10 of your card sells for $40 more than a SGC 10, that difference can outweigh a cheaper fee. Enter sold prices for each company in the calculator; the “Best grader for this card” table ranks all four at their cheapest eligible tier.
